“Complete rehabilitation” of 21-km highway underway in western Georgia

A 21-kilometre section of western Georgia’s Zestaponi-Kitskhi-Kharagauli highway is undergoing “complete rehabilitation,” the Georgian Roads Department announced on Tuesday. 

The state body revealed “intensive” work on the road, with asphalt and concrete paving being laid and drainage pipes being installed.

The ₾14,288,887 ($4.8mln/€4.5mln) project is funded from the state budget, and also includes setting up of connections to local roads and entrances to yards of the local population.

Markings are also being added along the highway, in addition to the work on setting up road signs, the Department said.
