Georgian judo team wins record 14 medals at Tbilisi Grand Slam

Georgian judokas have triumphed at the Tbilisi Grand Slam, with athletes of the national team claiming five gold, five silver and four bronze medals at a competition hosted in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi between Friday and Sunday.

The gold medals went to:

  • Temur Nozadze (-60 kg)
  • Lasha Shavdatuashvili (-73 kg)
  • Beka Gviniashvili (-90kg)
  • Onise Saneblidze (-100kg)
  • Gela Zaalishvili ( +100kg)

The silver medals were earned by:

  • Giorgi Sardalashvili (-60 kg)
  • Giorgi Tutashvili (-66 kg)
  • Tato Grigalashvili (81 kg)
  • Giorgi Beriashvili (-100 kg)
  • Levan Matiashvili (+100 kg)

The bronze medals were awarded to:

  • Vazha Margvelashvili (-60 kg)
  • Giorgi Terashvili (-73 kg)
  • Eter Liparteliani (-57 kg)
  • Sopio Somkhishvili (+78 kg)

With 14 medals claimed at the competition, Georgia also finished first among the teams of the competition.
