Submission of documents on Covid vaccination, recovery and testing won’t be mandatory for Georgian citizens while travelling to Germany starting June, the German Embassy in Georgia announced on Tuesday.

The list of high-risk countries designed to protect against the spread of coronavirus was also abolished by the country due to reduced severity of the Covid-19 Omicron variant.

The Embassy also said individuals travelling to Germany from countries where the virus has mutated were required to submit vaccination certificates, noting Georgia was not among such countries.

All vaccines listed by the World Health Organisation will be eligible in case of travelling from countries where the virus has mutated, the Embassy added.
