The importance of the applications for European Union membership submitted by Georgia and Moldova, and priorities for their full EU integration were reviewed on Tuesday in a meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and his Moldovan counterpart Natalia Gavrilița at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The officials discussed the close bilateral relations between their countries and expressed readiness to further deepen the existing cooperation, the Government Administration said.
Garibashvili noted integration into the EU was a “historic choice” of the country’s citizens, with the two prime ministers reaffirming their “strong support” for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two states.

The meeting also focused on the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine and the security environment in the Black Sea region, with the government heads confirming their solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
Garibashvili tweeted following the meeting to note “joining the EU is the common goal and civilizational choice of Georgia and Moldova”.
