Georgian Gov’t invites HCL Technologies to open country branch, supply IT products to int'l markets

Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili and Kalyan Kumar, the Head of Ecosystems at HCL Technologies, on Monday discussed a potential launch of a branch of the global technology company in Georgia for supply of information technology products to international markets, the Economy  Ministry said.

Meeting as part of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the sides discussed Georgia’s beneficial tax system for international IT companies.

The meeting also focused on measures taken by the Government to develop the ecosystem in the country and train local staff. 

It was noted that the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency is currently implementing a certificate training program for 3,000 IT professionals, and, starting in 2022, will train an additional 5,000 specialists," the Ministry noted as part of the points favouring companies deciding to open their representation in the country.

The Georgian delegation invited HCL Technologies to Georgia to explore the local market and its investment opportunities.
