Oliver Varhelyi, the European Union Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, on Wednesday said the European Commission had begun preparations of producing its conclusion on the EU membership questionnaire it had received from the Georgian Government.
Varhelyi made the comment following his meeting with the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Brussels, tweeting the EU continued to “support the mitigation of the effects” of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Garibashvili and Varhelyi recently discussed the work process on the questionnaire, which was successfully completed by Georgian authorities ahead of schedule, as well as the next steps the country must go through to get the membership candidate status.
The meeting also focused on the security situation in the Black Sea region, with the Prime Minister reiterating Georgia's solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
