Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has held a meeting with European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi in Brussels earlier today.
The meeting focused on the key directions of Georgia-EU relations and the agenda for the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit.
Garibashvili and Varhelyi emphasised the importance of ensuring that the summit’s political declaration maximally reflects issues prioritised by Georgia.

Irakli Garibashvili noted the importance of gradual integration into the single EU market and empowering energy and digital connectivity, including through tapping into the full potential of the Black Sea.
Garibashvili thanked Varhelyi for presenting the economic investment plan for the Eastern Partnership member states during his visit to Georgia, also adding that the Georgian government is taking active steps toward implementing successful projects. He noted that support from the European Commissioner and the EU member states is very important for Georgia.
Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili noted that the government has an ambitious plan for Georgia to make a formal application for full membership in the EU IN 2024, adding that reforms will continue on this path.
