Georgian Foreign Minister, US Ambassador discuss “intensifying” defence, trade, security ties

The “strategic partnership” between Georgia and the United States, and the topic of intensifying ties between the countries in defence, security, trade, economy and investment were discussed by Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and US Ambassador Kelly Degnan on Saturday.

 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia said the FM had expressed gratitude to the partner country for its “unwavering support” of Georgia’s state sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic aspirations in the meeting.

Darchiashvili also thanked Degnan for the US Government’s support in strengthening Georgia’s democratic institutions and economic growth, with the two officials also reviewing avenues of intensified cooperation.
