Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri and Karin Keller-Sutter, the Swiss Federal Councillor and the Head of the Federal Department of Justice and Police, discussed ongoing events in the Black Sea region and challenges caused by the security situation, the Ministry said on Thursday.
Held in Tbilisi, the meeting saw the parties review the existing cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the Swiss Confederation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, as well as perspectives of future cooperation.
Gomelauri emphasised the significance of the visit of Keller-Sutter and thanked his Swiss colleague for the “strong support” of Switzerland for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
Georgia’s Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri thanked the country’s foreign partners for their “significant support” of the Ministry at the Georgian Parliament on Thursday, while also highlighting areas of ongoing cooperation.
