The prospects of Georgia's accession to the European Union and Georgian-Polish bilateral relations were discussed by Levan Ioseliani, the Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Alexander Elisashvili, the Chairman of the opposition Citizens political group, and Mariusz Maszkiewicz, the Polish Ambassador to Georgia on Wednesday.
The Georgian MPs noted the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine and support for the country in the wake of the Russian invasion, the press office of the Parliament said.
"What Poland is doing for Ukraine is really exemplary. We would like Georgia to be a partner of Poland, because our country would deal with many problems stemming from the Russian Federation in a completely different way,” Ioseliani said.
Poland is "exceptionally strong" in terms of self-governance, with its experience being of significance for Georgia, Elisashvili said at the meeting, noting the importance of deepening cooperation between the two states.
