Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Ukrainian Parliament Speaker, on Friday thanked speakers of parliaments of foreign countries, including his Georgian counterpart, who have visited Ukraine to express their support in the face of Russian aggression.

Stefanchuk said the Ukrainian Parliament was “actively working” in parliamentary diplomacy to gain support of parliamentarians from around the world and encourage them to take action following the invasion of the country by Russian forces in February.

Thanks to these efforts, the Speakers of the Parliaments of Poland, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Georgia, Romania, Northern Macedonia and Switzerland, as well as representatives of parliaments from different countries have already visited Ukraine to express their support and solidarity. The Ukrainian Parliament is grateful to those who stand side by side with Ukraine,” he said.

On April 16, the Georgian Parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Shalva Papuashvili visited Ukraine.
