The United States will allocate $35 million to Georgia for the country to strengthen its defence capabilities against threats from Russia, Voice of America's Georgian service reported on Wednesday.

The outlet noted this would be part of the latest military assistance provided by the United States in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Georgia will receive $35 million, which includes combat equipment for a brigade, an unmanned aerial vehicle system, an advanced field artillery tactical data system, mobility capabilities and cyber-defense,” VoA quoted the Department of State from an exclusive written comment.

The State Department also said out of $713 million allocated by the US Government to foreign military funding, $322 million would be spent on strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities, with the rest distributed to the Balkans and Central and Eastern European countries.
