Thea Tsulukiani, the Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Culture Minister, on Tuesday said the visit of the Parliamentary delegation from the country to Ukraine over the weekend had been “very important and successful” amid the ongoing Russian invasion.

Tsulukiani said “many misunderstandings” that had arisen between authorities of the two states in recent weeks were “dispelled” during the visit of Georgian officials, adding it had “turned out” that “much of the information” that “Ukrainian friends were worried about” had been “based on lies” supplied to them by “certain groups” from Georgia.

Tsulukiani expressed gratitude to Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, the head of the delegation, and other MPs both from the Parliamentary majority or the opposition that formed the visiting group.

The Vice PM noted the visit was important to “put an end to misunderstandings” during “direct contact” of Georgian and Ukrainian counterparts.

"They [Ukrainian authorities] know that Georgia and the Georgian people, with the involvement of various branches of Government, are standing by their side during this difficult time," Tsulukiani concluded
