Over 10 tons of humanitarian aid was sent to Ukraine from Georgia’s western Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region on Sunday. The humanitarian cargo included first-aid items, medical supplies and non-perishable products.

The aid, collected in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Guria municipalities, was eventually gathered in Georgia’s port city of Poti and will be sent to Ukraine by Georgian Post.
The process was coordinated by Nino Vibliani, the First Deputy State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.
Following a decision by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the regional state representatives and the Government’s department of regional relations collected humanitarian aid throughout Georgia to assist the people of Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian invasion of the country.
A second package of humanitarian aid to Ukraine is ready to be delivered to the country after being collected throughout Georgia, the Government Administration said on Monday.
