The NATO-Georgia cooperation and the security environment in the Black Sea region were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili and the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg, the Georgian foreign office said.
Darchiashvili thanked the alliance leader for inviting partner countries, including Georgia, to the NATO Ministerial this week, which he called “another expression of the alliance's support for Georgia.”
The top Georgian diplomat underlined Stoltenberg’s “special personal support” for Georgia and its Euro-Atlantic integration, and also stressed “the importance of ensuring [NATO’s] continued and strong support in the process.” The two leaders reaffirmed “readiness” for future cooperation, the Foreign Ministry added.
