Georgia reports 5,504 new cases of coronavirus, weekly positivity rate stands at 9.6%

Georgia has reported 5,504 new cases of coronavirus, 3,304 recoveries and 24 deaths in the last 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate stands at 9.6%.

A total of 51,509 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

Overall, 51,838 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 25,161 of them were rapid tests, while the remaining 26,677 were PCR tests. 

Georgia has had a total of 994,399 Covid-19 cases since February 26, 2020. 

928,441 of the 994,399 infected individuals have recovered, while 14,449 have died from the virus.

The country has reported a total of 1,189 cases of Omicron variant since December 20, 2021.

The new 5,504 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 3,222 cases 
  • Adjara - 768 cases 
  • Imereti - 483 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 189 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 203 cases 
  • Guria - 109 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 184 cases 
  • Kakheti - 159 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 101 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 72 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 14 cases

4,393 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 967 of them are in intensive care units. 293 patients are on artificial ventilation. 

45,065 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.

1,307,729 individuals in the country have received at least one dose of Covid-19 the vaccine so far, while 1,191,003 have been fully vaccinated.
