Georgia reports 3,656 new cases of coronavirus, 32 deaths

Georgia has reported 3,656 new Covid-19 cases, 3,066 recoveries, and 32 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days has increased to 9.64%.

Overall 53,329 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 29,711 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 16,196 of the 29,711 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13,515 were PCR tests. 

999,343 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 931,507 of 999,343 patients have recovered, while 14,481 have died from the virus.

Overall, 1,189 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of January 17.

The 3,656 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 2,530 cases 
  • Adjara - 330 cases 
  • Imereti - 213 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 116 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 98 cases 
  • Guria - 67 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 104 cases 
  • Kakheti - 106 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 43 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 44 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 5 cases

A total of 4,500 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,001 of the 4,500 patients are in critical condition. 289 of the 1,001 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.

46,737 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,308,198 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,191,720 people have been fully vaccinated.
