Georgia reports 1,374 new cases of coronavirus of 37,524 tests

Georgia has reported 1,374 new cases of coronavirus, 422 recoveries and 11 deaths in the past 24 hours.

37,524 tests have been conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 28,078 of the 37,524 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 9,446 were PCR tests. 

2.46 per cent of tested individuals had the virus in the past 14 days. 

Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia stated earlier last week that restrictions may be imposed again in the country if more than two per cent of tested individuals test positive for coronavirus in two consecutive weeks. 

The country has had 290,129 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.

278,251 of the 290,129 patients have recovered, while 3,894 have died from the virus. 

Currently 7,958 individuals remain infected with Covid-19. 

The new 1,374 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 756 cases 
  • Adjara - 116 cases 
  • Imereti - 97 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 61 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 80 cases 
  • Guria - 15 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 161 cases 
  • Kakheti - 40 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 30 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 10 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 8 cases

2,445 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 400 of the 2,445 patients are in critical condition. 81 of the 400 critical patients are on artificial ventilation. 

12,834 individuals are in self-isolation. 

More than 3,722,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far.
