Georgia reports 761 new cases of coronavirus of 34,201 tests

Georgia has reported 761 new cases of coronavirus, 537 recoveries and nine deaths in the past 24 hours.
34,201 tests have been conducted around the country in the past 24 hours.20,281 of the 34,201 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13,920 were PCR tests.
2.03 per cent of tested individuals had the virus in the past 14 days.
Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia stated earlier this week that restrictions may be imposed again in the country if more than two per cent of tested individuals test positive for coronavirus in two consecutive weeks.
The country has had 286,406 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.

276,084 of the 286,406 patients have recovered, while 3,849 have died from the virus.
Currently 6,447 individuals remain infected with Covid-19.
The new 761 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 434 cases
- Adjara - 67 cases
- Imereti - 59 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 20 cases
- Shida Kartli - 24 cases
- Guria - 33 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 77 cases
- Kakheti - 19 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 23 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 2 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 3 cases

2,045 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 346 of the 2,045 patients are in critical condition. 62 of the 346 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
11,270 individuals are in self-isolation.
More than 3,584,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far.
Three employees of Imedi hospital in the southwestern Georgian town of Akhaltsikhe have been charged by the Prosecutor’s Office for providing false information about the recent death of 27-year-old nurse Megi Bakradze.

The Chinese government will gift Georgia 100,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine in April, head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze stated earlier today. Georgia received 100,000 doses of Chinese Sinopharm vaccine last week and the country has plans to purchase the Chinese Sinovac vaccine in April, Gamkrelidze said. He stated that both vaccines are likely to be approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in mid-April and Georgia will launch vaccination only after.
Following the death of 27-year-old Georgian nurse Megi Bakradze earlier today after she received the AstraZeneca vaccine on March 18 and went into anaphylactic shock, Georgian health officials have decided that vaccination will continue only in clinics with intensive care units (ICUs).
