Georgian police have received 225 new cars to update their fleet.

The interior ministry reported earlier today that the new cars will be given to police divisions in Tbilisi and the regions, as well as to departments of the patrol police.
This, the ministry said, will help police respond to crime ‘timely and effectively’.

Announcing that they are constantly updating an dimproving their fleet the interior ministry plans to add more cars in future to increase the efficiency of their work.
The Georgian Defence Ministry has received the last five of 20 vehicles from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency which will be used at the NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Centre. Georgia received the first batch of vehicles in 2019.
The United States Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Proliferation Prevention Program has donated six troop carriers, two 6,000 liter fuel trucks and seven Suzuki off-road vehicles to the Georgian Border Police ‘to increase mobility to remote border sectors’.
The NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center has received 15 brand new vehicles through the NATO Defence Capacity Building Trust Fund, with contributions from NATO Allies Norway, United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, Denmark, Italy, Portugal and Lithuania.
The European Union and the International Organisation for Migration have donated 30 all-terrain vehicles to the Georgian Border Police to better combat irregular migration and cross-border crime. This is the part of a larger package of 40 vehicles, 10 of which were donated to Georgia back in November 2020.
