Strong winds have caused moderate damage in Georgia's capital of Tbilisi today, says Tbilisi City Hall.
Saburtalo, Gldani and Nadzaladevi districts were among the most affected.
Trees have fallen, branches broken and roofs taken off in some areas. Moreover, a window was blown out in a building under construction and the wall of a residential house collapsed.
In addition, the Georgian state flag was damaged on Agmashenebeli Alley, which was later restored in a timely manner.
Services of Tbilisi municipality are working in emergency mode to minimise the damage and take appropriate measures.
Villages in the Telavi and Akhmeta municipalities of Kakheti region have been damaged as a result of heavy rainfall and hail last night.
Strong winds and heavy rainfall have caused problems in Tbilisi, particularly in the Didube-Chugureti district, the Georgian Emergency Management Service reports.
Saturday night's heavy wind and rain have badly affected some of the districts in Tbilisi, as well as other regions of Georgia. The Emergency Management Centre has received about 25 calls from Tbilisi and 20 calls from Shida Kartli, in Georgia's east.
Heavy rain hit Tbilisi on the evening of July 8, flooding several streets, shops and basements. Drivers could not move by car for several hours on some sections of roads.
Strong wind has caused damage in the Georgian eastern region of Kakheti, where felled trees damaged residential houses and power lines last night in Lagodekhi municipality. Due to the damaged power lines, some homes have been left without electricity until now, however local authorities promise to restore electricity by the end of the day.
