The first regular cargo train is heading from China to Georgia and is expected to reach the country in about 10-12 days, the Georgian Foreign Ministry says.
The train left the Chinese city of Wuwei, Gansu province, yesterday.
The ministry says that cargo transportation from China via railway will become regular, which will benefit the country and its role in the region as a transport and a logistical hub.
Georgian Ambassador to China Archil Kalandia attended a special ceremony dedicated to the event in China yesterday.
