The new sustainable European hotel chain Quartz Inn Hotels, which officially launched at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London in November, has announced plans to expand in Georgia.

Quartz Inn Hotels' concept is facilitating access to the latest hotel technology for independent hotels that do not have sufficient means to compete with large hotel chains.

We are building a new kind of tourism that is sustainable, fair, based on technology, and helping local communities preserve their traditions,” Quartz Inn Hotels said.

The Managing Director of Quartz Inn Hotels, Ignacio Merino, who ‘in addition to his extensive hotel industry experience’ has also worked at OTAs and travel startups, says that Quartz Inn Hotels plans ‘to end 2022 with over 100 affiliated hotels throughout Europe.’

We want to promote direct sales for our hotels and contribute to creating a more sustainable tourism industry, maintaining the local cultures, reducing energy and water use and eliminating single-use plastic in the rooms,” Ignacio says.

Quartz Inn Hotels & Resorts was created in May 2020 with the intent to create a network of sustainable hotels, as ‘tourism has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.’
