The British-based Rugby World, promoted as "the world's best-selling rugby magazine", will have a Georgian edition starting next year, after the publication and their Georgian partners signed a deal announced on Monday.
Quarterly bilingual issues of the magazine will go on sale in Georgia starting in January, bringing both content specific to the Georgian rugby and select articles from the English-language publication to readers.
Signed as a three-way collaboration between the Georgia Rugby Union governing body, Future Georgia LLC and the Rugby Journalists’ League - the latter bringing together sports reporters from Georgia - the deal is also intended to reflect the rise of the popularity and success of the sport in the country.

The latter was echoed by Rugby World editor Sarah Mockford, who noted Georgia's status as "one of the coming forces in the world rugby" in her comments to the joint project, while Ioseb Tkemaladze, president of the Georgia Rugby Union, said he was confident of the magazine increasing audience for the sport in the country.
The formal signing of the deal hosted two of Georgia's rugby legends - former captain of the national team Mamuka Gorgodze and founder of the national governing body Givi Mrelashvili. Partners in the publication deal also said they aim to launch the website of the Georgian issue next month.
The British-based Rugby World marked its 60th anniversary last year. The monthly publication's offices are located in London, with Future plc publishing the issues.
