Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Archil Talakvadze have sent kind regards to Ukraine on its Independence day.
Salome Zurabishvili underscored the resemblance between Georgia and Ukraine, noting that both countries ‘went through a similar road to freedom.’

FM Zalkaliani in his congratulatory tweet also noted that Georgia and Ukraine share the ‘same values and challenges.’

Ukraine is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its independence today.
The Crimea Platform summit took place yesterday in Ukraine which was established in April of 2021 within the NATO parliamentary assembly and aims to achieve deoccupation of Crimea and its peaceful return to Ukraine.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili along with FM Zalkaliani, Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze and the Georgian Government Administration Head Ilia Darchiashvili visited Ukraine on August 21.
PM Garibashvili met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, PM Denys Shmyhal and Parliament Speaker Dmytro Razumkov during his visit and participated in the Crimea Platform summit along with the leaders of 40 countries.
President Zelensky awarded PM Garibashvili the first degree order of merit during the Crimea Platform summit.
