As part of his official visit to Ukraine, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has taken part in the Crimean Platform Summit today, which brings together the leaders of more than 40 countries.

At the summit Garibashvili said that creation of a Crimean platform is a 'window opportunity to speak out of the atrocities that the occupation forces have been committing against our people'.

We must remind to the world that Crimea is Ukraine", said Garibashvili at the summit.

He continued his speech by talking about the friendship between Ukraine and Georgia.

We stand shoulder to shoulder in times of peace and war. Our will to find the freedom against a common enemy and the struggle for liberty and democracy, which are the core values, has always made us stronger against any other force that is attempted to destruct our unity", Garibashvili said.

Garibashvili said that Russia had occupied 'two indivisible regions of Georgia, undermining European security and the rule of law'.

Thirteen years ago, the Russian Federation launched a large-scale military attack against Georgia, killing hundreds of civilians and militaries, burning and destroying to ashes dozens of Georgian villages, starting another wave of ethnic cleansing which cost hundreds of thousands of ethnic Georgians to flee from their homes. Later, in 2014, Ukraine shared the same fate... Without resolving the conflicts in the region, the West is bound to come face to face with growing sources of destabilisation", Gharibashvili said.

Garibashvili stated that Georgia is committed to the peaceful settlement of the conflict.

During an official visit between August 21 and 23 Garibashvili met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, PM Denys Shmyhal and Parliament Speaker Dmytro Razumkov.
