Coronavirus: 5,579 new cases of 52,580 tests in 24 hours

Georgia has reported 5,579 new cases of coronavirus, 1,867 recoveries and 50 deaths in the past 24 hours.
In total, 52,580 tests have been conducted around the country of which 33,517 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 19,063 were PCR tests.

The new cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 2,355 cases
- Adjara - 746 cases
- Imereti - 667 cases
- Kakheti - 418 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 364 cases
- Shida Kartli - 345 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 281 cases
- Guria - 133 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 125 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 104 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 41 cases

Currently 53,854 individuals remain infected with Covid-19, of which:
- 43,562 patients are undergoing treatment at home
- 6,835 patients - in hospitals
- 3,457 patients - in the clinical-hotels
In addition, 1,398 patients are in critical condition of which 300 are on artificial ventilation.
As of today 43,600 individuals are in self-isolation and 69 individuals are under quarantine.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 477,264 cases of coronavirus, 417,013 recoveries and 6,371 deaths.
Georgian Patriarch Ilia II has ordered Orthodox churches to comply with regulations such as usage of disposable cups, distance, disinfection and wearing the facemasks as coronavirus spikes in the country at a record level.
Two new mass vaccination centres have opened in Georgia, where people can get vaccination without any prior registration. One vaccination centre was opened at the Mtskheta-Mtianeti regional sports complex, while the other was opened at Georgian Technical University, in the capital city of Tbilisi.
Georgia has reported 5,359 new cases of coronavirus, 2,726 recoveries and 42 deaths in the past 24 hours.
From September, some facilities in Georgia may only allow vaccinated citizens or those who have negative Covid-19 test results, announces Chief of Operations at the Interagency Coordination Council Giorgi Ghibradze.
Special transport lines will operate in Tbilisi starting today until September 4, ensuring the population has access to vaccination centres in the capital city, announces Tbilisi City Hall. To note, public transport will not work in all main cities of Georgia from today to September 4, however intercity transport will work in a regular manner.
Georgia has reported 4,314 new cases of coronavirus, 4,519 recoveries and 35 deaths in the past 24 hours. In total, 34,074 tests have been conducted around the country of which 19,813 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 14,261 were PCR tests. Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 481,578 cases of coronavirus, 421,532 recoveries and 6,406 deaths.
A field hospital for 500 patients will open in the Didi Digomi district of Tbilisi, where the majority of beds will be equipped with oxygen concentrators, Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze stated earlier today.
