Georgian external trade up 18.2% in January-May 2021

Georgia’s external trade turnover amounted to $5.01 billion in January-May 2021, which is 18.2% higher compared to the same period of the last year, show preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

The value of exports increased 24.4% and totalled $1.53 billion, while imports also increased 15.7%, amounting to $3.48 billion.

The trade deficit of Georgia in January-May 2021 amounted to $1.94 million which is 38.7% of total trade turnover.
