Jan.-Apr. 2021: Georgian domestic exports up 19.6%

Georgia exported locally produced goods worth $1.19 billion in January-April 2021, which is 19.6% higher year-on-year, announces the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat). 

The share of domestic exports (export of locally produced goods and services, including those of foreign origin that have been substantially changed through local processing) in total exports constituted 73.8% and amounted to $884.2 million, 25.1% higher to the January-April 2020", said Geostat.

The top trading partners were:

  • China ($189.5 million)
  • Russia ($146.1 million)
  • Turkey ($98.3 million)

In January-April 2021 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items, equalling $264.1 million, or 29.9 per cent of total exports. 

The exports of ferroalloys totalled $111.4 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 12.6%. The exports of wine of fresh grapes occupied the third place standing at $66.7 million and constituting 7.5% of the total exports.
