Head of the National Center for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze has said that cases of coronavirus infection among individuals vaccinated against the coronavirus have been reported in Georgia.

He said that 0.8% of those who were vaccinated once and 0.2-0.3% of those who were vaccinated twice have tested positive for coronavirus.

Of course, vaccination is very important and preventive. As you know, there is nothing absolute in the medicine, so vaccinated individuals may get infected, and we already have cases of this. In case of single-dose vaccinations, approximately 0.8% were infected, and in double-dose vaccinations about 0.2-0.3%. For the most part, all of them had the disease relatively mildly, almost without hospitalisation or intensive medical care", Gamkrelidze said.

Georgia has reported 360 new cases of coronavirus, 1,195 recoveries and 16 deaths in the past 24 hours.
