Coronavirus: 986 new cases, 590 recoveries, 12 deaths

Georgia has reported 986 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 43,286 tests over the last 24 hours. 

Out of the 986 new cases 535 were reported in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. 

Other cases were reported in:

  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 100
  • Adjara - 82
  • Imereti - 76
  • Kakheti - 51
  • Kvemo Kartli - 46
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 38
  • Shida Kartli - 26
  • Guria - 14
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 12
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Zemo Svaneti - 6

Meanwhile, 590 individuals have recovered from the coronavirus, while 12 infected patients have died.

As of now Georgia has confirmed a total of 342,880 cases of Covid-19, including .325,016 recoveries and 4,739 deaths. 13,099 people remain infected throughout the country.

Based on the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) data, 24,607 people have been fully vaccinated in Georgia. 

Registration for the vaccine is available at the booking.moh.gov.ge.

Deputy Head of NCDC Paata Imnadze has told Formula TV that fully vaccinated Georgian citizens can now receive digital Covid vaccination certificates with QR codes to ease travel between countries.

Just recently Georgia reported five cases of the Indian variant of Covid-19. However, three foreign citizens have already left the country, while two Georgian citizens  have been sent to isolation. All of their contacts have been identified.
