Greek airline company Aegean Airlines will resume flights on the route Athens-Tbilisi-Athens starting June 3, announces the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency.
At first, flights will be carried out once a week, while the number of flights will gradually increase during the summer season, says the agency.
Athens-Tbilisi-Athens regular flights will be carried out according to the following schedule:
- From June 3 to October 29 - flights will be carried out on Fridays
- From July 4 to October 29 - flights will be carried out on Fridays and Sundays
- From July 21 to October 29 - flights will be carried out on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
Aegean Airlines has been operating on the Georgian market since 2012.
Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava has said that the number of airline companies that are either increasing the frequency of weekly flights or new airlines that want to enter the country 'is growing very fast'.
Georgia is opening its land borders on June 1, 2021 after more than a year-long closure due to the coronavirus pandemic. Individuals will be admitted through the land borders of Georgia with evidence of full vaccination and negative PCR test results or alternatively only with a negative PCR test result taken within the last 72 hours.

The Chisinau-Batumi-Chisinau flights will be carried out two times a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, from June 4 to October 1.
