Georgia reports 818 new Covid-19 cases, 783 recoveries, 14 deaths

Georgia has reported 818 new cases of coronavirus, 783 recoveries and 14 deaths over the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 783 individuals have recovered form the coronavirus and 14 patients have died.

Out of the new 818 cases:

  • 465 were reported in Tbilisi
  • 75 were reported in Adjara
  • 73 were reported in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti
  • 57 were reported in Imereti
  • 46 were reported in Kvemo Kartli
  • 29 were reported in Shida Kartli
  • 25 were reported in Kakheti
  • 18 were reported in Guria and Mtskheta-Mtianeti each
  • 8 were reported in Samtskhe-Javakheti
  • 4 were reported in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti

As of now the number of total confirmed cases of Covid-19 stands at 295,358. This includes 280,915 recoveries, 3,939 fatalities and 10,478 active cases of the infection. 

Calling on the citizens to maintain public order, the Georgian police have fined 1,437 individuals and legal entities for coronavirus violations over the last 24 hours.

The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has also announced that more than 8,000 individuals have registered for the second shot of the Pfizer vaccine. 

29,250 doses of the US-German Pfizer/BioNtech coronavirus vaccine entered Georgia in late March enabling people over 65 years of age to make a choice between Pfizer and British AstraZeneca vaccines.
