The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has trained over 200 professionals in Georgia to strengthen the fight against COVID-19, announces the US Embassy in Georgia.
The training focused on proper identification and surveillance of COVID-19 cases, as well as infection prevention and monitoring practices.
Years of cooperation between the US CDC and its Georgian counterparts is helping Georgia in its efforts to respond to the threat of COVID-19 ... We are proud to support the Georgian National Center for Disease Control and Public Health and the Ministry of Health, and we look forward to continuing to work together to protect the health and safety of the Georgian people", posted the US Embassy on its official Facebook page.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 81 confirmed cases of the virus. Thirteen of them have recovered.
