Georgian government to allocate 1.5 million GEL to reconstruct school in Shatili village, Khevsureti region

The Georgian government will allocate 1.5 million GEL ($530,000/€480,000) to reconstruct a school in the Shatili village of the Khevsureti region. The decision was made public at a government meeting earlier today.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said that the building process will start in the near future and will be reconstructed during one season.

A fire broke out in the Shatili village school in October 2019 which completely destroyed the building. The school was the only one in the historic mountain village.

The fire was extinguished and no one was injured in the incident.

A total of eight students studied at Shatili school at the time.
