3 Italian tourists trapped in avalanche found dead in Svaneti

3 Italian tourists have been found dead after getting trapped in an avalanche in the winter resort of Tetnuldi, in the western Svaneti region of Georgia today, reports the press office of the Mountain Resorts Development Company (MRDC).

A group of 10 Italian tourists were skiing off piste, in a zone where skiing is forbidden.  With the assistance of the employees of the Emergency Management Service four Italians have been escaped. One of them has multiple fractures”, said the press office of MRDC.

This is the second case of such accident that occurred in Svaneti this year.

On February 11, 2020, after a two-day rescue search operation Georgian rescuers found the body of Ukrainian tourist who was trapped in an avalanche.
