Two years have passed since Georgian citizen Archil Tatunashvili died in unclear circumstances in occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia visited the Tatunashvili family in the village of Tsilkani Shida Kartli region yesterday.
It is the duty of each citizen and the state to remember and stand by Archil Tatunashvili's family in every way”, PM Gakharia said, praising his heroism.
President Salome Zurabishvili also remembered that “tragic day”.
Two years ago, the occupation regime murdered Archil Tatunashvili. Today we remember this tragic day as a nation, with our hopes directed to a future of united Georgia where such a tragedy never takes place again.

Archil Tatunashvili was detained by occupying forces on February 22, 2018. The next day, Tskhinvali media reported that he “died because of heart-related problems".
The body of the 35-year-old Tatunashvili, was delivered to the Tbilisi-administered territory 26 days later with his internal organs removed and injuries on his body.
In September 2018, Interpol issued a red notice for the two individuals, David Gurtsiev and Alik Tabuev, who were charged with the murder of Tatunashvili. However, they have not been detained so far.
