The Tbilisi municipal budget is increased by 217 mln GEL ($75.8 mln/€70 mln) and amounts to 1.239 billion GEL ($430 mln/€400 mln) for 2020.
The Tbilisi budget was approved today at the Tbilisi City Assembly meeting with 31 supporting and none against.
Much of the Tbilisi budget will be used to replace old yellow buses and renew the city’s public transport fleet, members of the assembly noted. Salaries for employees of cultural and educational institutions of Tbilisi will also increase.
In 2019, priorities of the Tbilisi budget were construction and reconstruction of transport infrastructure, reconstruction of damaged buildings, as well as reconstruction of Kakheti Highway road and the river Gldanula bridge.
