A symbolic capsule has been inserted into the foundation of the new building of TV station First Channel.
On December 30, the TV station celebrated its 64th anniversary.
The power of the media is the word, and that is why we have filled the capsule with important words, to put in the foundation the messages that belong to the employees of the First Channel," said Tinatin Berdzenishvili, the Director General of the Georgian Public Broadcaster.
The design of the new building was selected through a public competition, and was delivered by Tbilkalakproekti Ltd.
The construction work will be carried out by Dagi, a company with 20 years of experience that won the tender in 2020, and will be supervised by CMC which was also chosen as a result of a tender.
Well-known Georgian TV journalist Julieta Vashakmadze has died at the age of 87. Since 1956 Vashakmadze has worked at the First Channel as an anchor.
