Georgian First Channel obtained a construction permit from the Architecture Service of Tbilisi City Hall. Companies willing to participate in the tender are asked to view the information about the tender and its conditions on the united electronic system of purchasing. The participants of the tender can submit applications from July 25 to 30.
According to the tender documents, the building should be built in 12 months.
Since the building located at Kostava Street is amortised, the Management and Board of Trustees applied to the Ministry of Economy in 2017 and the ministry handed over to the broadcaster in ownership two hectares of land space on Politkovskaya Street.

General Director of Georgian 1TV Vasil Maghlaperidze said a new building of Georgian 1TV has to be constructed and the decision has no alternative.
The decision about the new building was made many years ago due to the amortised condition of the building on Kostava Street. Renovation of the building at Kostava Street is impossible and its critical situation is getting worse. Let’s face it – the building is skewed aside and there is underground water running beneath. That is why the decision was made though it was not decided where the broadcaster had to be relocated and how the new building had to be built", he said.
Maghlaperidze said that 1TV will have a modern building that will be cheaper with respect to maintenance.
