Coronavirus: Georgia reports 2,635 new cases, 2,244 recoveries, 49 deaths

Georgia has reported 2,635 new cases, 2,244 recoveries and 49 deaths in the past 24 hours.
16,870 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country (8,011 of the 16,870 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 8,859 were PCR tests).
Georgia has had 204,003 cases of coronavirus since February.
171,526 of the 201,368 individuals have recovered, while 2,002 others have died.
30,449 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.

The new 2,635 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 1,134 cases
- Adjara - 230 cases
- Imereti - 338 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 216 cases
- Shida Kartli - 169 cases
- Guria - 66 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 199 cases
- Kakheti - 186 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 46 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 39 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti - 12 cases

6,680 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,148 of the 6,680 patients are in critical condition. 427 of the 1,148 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
2,183 Covid-19 patients are in hotels, 468 individuals are in quarantine and 21,586 are at home.
45,818 individuals are in self-isolation.
More than 1,690,000 tests have been conducted in Georgia so far.
Remdesivir, a US-produced medicine against Ebola which is also used against Covid-19, has entered Georgia and will be used in the treatement of Covid-19 patients who are in critical condition from Monday, Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze stated earlier today.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has stated earlier today that for the first time in the past several months the country reported less than 3,000 daily infections from more than 17,000 daily tests. Georgia has reported 2,981 new cases, 2,001 recoveries and 31 deaths in the past 24 hours. 17,029 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country (8,859 of the 17,029 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 8,170 were PCR tests).
Georgia reported 5,068 new cases of coronavirus earlier today: a record-high figure since the country confirmed its first case of the virus on February 26, 2020.Earlier this week the government announced large-scale testing of the public, about 20,000 individuals on a daily basis, to reveal new infections in a timely fashion and prevent the further spread of the virus. The process will continue until February 1, 2021. Georgia has had 152,704 cases of coronavirus since February.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia says that the government-imposed coronavirus restrictions until January 31 aim to ensure a normal way of living starting February 1.
A total of 2,904 new cases of coronavirus have been reported over the last 24 hours in Georgia after conducting 9,318 PCR and 9,506 rapid tests. Meanwhile, 4,316 individuals have recovered, outnumbering new cases, while 53 have died.
Georgia has reported 824 new cases, 4,227 recoveries and 46 deaths in the past 24 hours. 4,811 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country due to the weekend (2,480 of the 4,811 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 2,331 were PCR tests). Georgia has had 209,462 cases of coronavirus since February. 184,668 of the 209,462 individuals have recovered, while 2,140 others have died.
Georgia has reported 3,064 new cases, 3,740 recoveries and 42 deaths in the past 24 hours.
