Audit Office: 2.5 mln GEL worth of video surveillance cameras purchased in 2018 still in storage

A total of 800 state license plate identification cameras purchased by the Roads Department of Georgia for 2.5 million GEL in 2018 are still in storage, says the State Audit Office in its overview of financial reports of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.

The Roads Department of Georgia has purchased 800 video surveillance cameras to transfer to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, but the transfer has not yet taken place and the cameras are stored in the Ministry of Internal Affairs warehouse", reads the audit report.

In addition, the State Audit Office reported negatively on the consolidated financial statements prepared by the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia for the period which ended on December 31, 2019.
