Georgian Ministry of Infrastructure to have 30% higher budget in 2021

The 2021 budget of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure will be 2.37 billion GEL: the highest in the history of the ministry and exceeds the budget of 2020 by 551.3 million GEL (30%), announces the ministry.

The budget will be distributed in the following way:

Road infrastructure - 853 million GEL 

Next year, 11 municipal road renovation and construction projects will be completed. In total 85 km of roads will be built and about 600 km of roads will be repaired", said the ministry.

Water supply - 347 million GEL

New projects will be financed in Samtredia, Vani, Baghdati and Kazbegi which will benefit more than 50,000 families. 24-hour water supply will also have 45,000 families living in Telavi, Sighnaghi, Kvareli, Dedoplistskaro municipalities", said the ministry.

Construction, renovation of educational infrastructure - 161 million GEL

The construction of 49 schools will be completed in 2021. 80 schools will be renovated and the construction of 17 new kindergartens will be financed next year", said the ministry.

Fund for projects to be implemented in the regions - 280 million GEL

This year's budget for the ministry, which totalled 1.82 billion GEL, will end in a surplus.
