Coronavirus: Georgia reports more recoveries than new cases, 41 deaths

Georgia has reported 3,768 new cases of coronavirus, 4,055 recoveries and 41 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

Borjomi and Bakuari bishop Lazare is among the deceased individuals. 

He had cancer and later he tested positive for coronavirus. 

The Head of Infectious Diseases and AIDS Centre Tengiz Tsertsvadze, who tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week, has been transported to hospital as his health condition has worsened. 

18,008 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.

The new 3,768 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 1,443 cases 
  • Adjara - 676 cases 
  • Imereti - 541 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 186 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 165 cases 
  • Guria - 52 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 368 cases 
  • Kakheti - 130 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 91 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 96 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti - 24 cases

Georgia has had 96,860 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.

Since then 77,932 individuals have recovered, while 894 others have died. 

5,879 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 838 of the 5,879 patients are in critical condition. 410 of the 838 critical patients are on artificial ventilation. 

3,411 Covid-19 patients are in hotels, 2,226 individuals are in quarantine and 8,718 are at home.

51,300 individuals are in self-isolation.

More than 1,012,160 individuals have been tested for coronavirus in Georgia so far.
