Coronavirus: Georgia reports more recoveries than new cases, 41 deaths

Georgia has reported 3,768 new cases of coronavirus, 4,055 recoveries and 41 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Borjomi and Bakuari bishop Lazare is among the deceased individuals.
He had cancer and later he tested positive for coronavirus.
The Head of Infectious Diseases and AIDS Centre Tengiz Tsertsvadze, who tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week, has been transported to hospital as his health condition has worsened.

The new 3,768 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 1,443 cases
- Adjara - 676 cases
- Imereti - 541 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 186 cases
- Shida Kartli - 165 cases
- Guria - 52 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 368 cases
- Kakheti - 130 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 91 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 96 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti - 24 cases

Georgia has had 96,860 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
Since then 77,932 individuals have recovered, while 894 others have died.
5,879 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 838 of the 5,879 patients are in critical condition. 410 of the 838 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
3,411 Covid-19 patients are in hotels, 2,226 individuals are in quarantine and 8,718 are at home.
51,300 individuals are in self-isolation.
More than 1,012,160 individuals have been tested for coronavirus in Georgia so far.

Georgia's Saknakhshiri coal mining company has suspended its activities for two weeks due to the infection rate of its employees with Covid-19, announces the company. Saknakhshiri announces that a PCR test revealed 144 employees had coronavirus.

Lazare Samadbegishvili, the bishop of Borjomi and Bakuriani has died of coronavirus today. Head of Patriarchate’s Public Relations Service Andria Jagmaidze said the bishop had cancer and underwent surgery a few days ago. Later he tested positive for coronavirus.
The country has reported 3,824 new cases of coronavirus, 3,851 recoveries and 33 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Georgia has reported 3,958 new cases of coronavirus, of which 2,157 were registered in the capital city of Tbilisi, 417 in the Black Sea Adjara region and 537 in the Imereti region. As for recoveries, 3,531 people recovered in the past 24 hours while the total number of recoveries has reached 89,170.
The Georgian Clinics Association has urged the government to open 100 to 500-bed field hospitals near big clinics which will be equipped with essential medical equipment to fight the coronavirus, as well as heating and air conditioning systems.
Planned operations will be postponed until March 1, 2021 announced Georgian Health Minister Ekaterina Tikaradze. "We have had a number of cases where an individual who was not infected with Covid-19 went to the clinic for a specific operation and after the operation he/she was confirmed positive with the infection. Therefore, we decided to limit planned surgeries and postpone the delay until March 1," Tikaradze told local Imedi TV.
