Coronavirus recoveries outnumber new cases in Georgia

Georgia has reported 3,020 new cases of coronavirus, 3,387 recoveries and 34 deaths over the last 24 hours. 

As of now, a total of 79,678 cases have been confirmed in Georgia since late-February, including 62,061 recoveries and 703 deaths. 

Out of the 3,020 new COVID-19 cases:

  • 1,354 were reported in Tbilisi
  • 410 were reported in Adjara
  • 398 were reported in Imereti
  • 248 were reported in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti
  • 198 were reported in Kvemo Kartli
  • 153 were reported in Shida Kartli
  • 126 were reported in Kakheti
  • 60 were reported in Guria
  • 41 were reported in Mtskheta-Mtianeti
  • 26 were reported in Samtskhe-Javakheti
  • 6 were reported in Racha Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti

There are 16,888 active cases of coronavirus in Georgia nowadays. 5,592 people are going under treatment at hospitals, 3,280 more - at special hospitals, while 8,016 others - at home. 

Moreover, 2,326 people are in quarantine zones, while 47,548 individuals are in self-isolation. 

Head of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Tengiz Tsertsvadze has recently called on Georgian citizens to maintain coronavirus-related safety regulations and avoid crowded gatherings.
