The State Inspector's service of Georgia has started an investigation into alleged excessive use of force against a detainee at the opposition’s rally held yesterday.
The individual in question, G.M., has already been interrogated and a medical study will be conducted.
The case is under investigation following the request of G.M.’s lawyer Eduard Marikashvili.
The opposition parties are demanding repeat elections, the dismissal of the chairwoman of Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) Tamar Zhvania and the re-composition of CEC.
Several opposition leaders and activists were fined 2,000 GEL each for the violation of curfew during yesterday’s rally.
