Coronavirus update: 1,928 new cases, 604 recoveries, 8 deaths

A total of 1,928 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Georgia over the last 24 hours, increasing the number of total confirmed cases to 28,431. 

Meanwhile, 604 people have recovered and eight more have died. 

Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of Task Force operating under the Inter-Agency Coordination Council announced today that out of the new 1,928 COVID-19 cases:

• 778 were reported in Tbilisi
• 551 were reported in Adjara
• 245 were reported in in Imereti
• 93 were reported in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti
• 87 were reported in Kvemo Kartli
• 42 were reported in Kakheti
• 35 were reported in Guria
• 33 were reported in Shida Kartli
• 27 were reported in Samtskhe-Javakheti
• 20 were reported in Mtskheta-Mtianeti
• 7 were reported in Racha Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti

Sichinava also announced that as of now the number of active coronavirus cases stands at 17,437, while 429 patients are incritical conditions. 

Moreover, 3,766 individuals are going under treatment at hospitals, 2,268 people are placed in special treatment hotels, 11,403 others are being treated at home, while 26,533 people remain in self-isolation.
