Coronavirus update: 1,928 new cases, 604 recoveries, 8 deaths

A total of 1,928 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Georgia over the last 24 hours, increasing the number of total confirmed cases to 28,431.
Meanwhile, 604 people have recovered and eight more have died.
Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of Task Force operating under the Inter-Agency Coordination Council announced today that out of the new 1,928 COVID-19 cases:
- 778 were reported in Tbilisi
- 551 were reported in Adjara
- 245 were reported in in Imereti
- 93 were reported in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti
- 87 were reported in Kvemo Kartli
- 42 were reported in Kakheti
- 35 were reported in Guria
- 33 were reported in Shida Kartli
- 27 were reported in Samtskhe-Javakheti
- 20 were reported in Mtskheta-Mtianeti
- 7 were reported in Racha Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti
Sichinava also announced that as of now the number of active coronavirus cases stands at 17,437, while 429 patients are incritical conditions.
Moreover, 3,766 individuals are going under treatment at hospitals, 2,268 people are placed in special treatment hotels, 11,403 others are being treated at home, while 26,533 people remain in self-isolation.
Georgia's Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced that ballot papers for the October 31 parliamentary elections are being printed. The CEC Spokesperson Ana Mikeladze also noted that ballot papers are being printed for Adjara Supreme Council elections as well as mayoral and city council (Sakrebulo) by-elections as well.
Georgia has reported 1,941 new cases of coronavirus over the last 24 hours, including 1,034 cases in the capital of Tbilisi. Meanwhile, 412 infected individuals have recovered, while ten people have died of the coronavirus-related complications.
Rapid antigen testing for COVID-19 to begin in Georgia today. This method relies on the direct detection of SARS-CoV-2 viral proteins in nasal swabs and other respiratory secretions. The rapid antigen test gives results in less than 30 minutes.
The government of Georgia says that wearing facemasks in open areas in the three main cities of Georgia - Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi - is strongly recommended to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus. Georgia has reported 1,759 new cases of coronavirus earlier today and five deaths which is a record number since the country confirmed its first case of the virus at the end of February 2020. The majority of the new cases were recorded in the capital Tbilisi, Adjara and Imereti regions.
The National Centre for the Disease Control (NCDC) announced yesterday that phone calls on behalf of its Richard G. Lugar Center for Public Health Research, also known as Lugar Lab, allegedly offering coronavirus medications are fake.
The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Tbilisi has announced that it has temporarily suspended consular services due to an increase in COVID-19 cases across Georgia.
Georgia has reported 1,872 new cases of coronavirus, 603 recoveries and 14 deaths in the past 24 hours. Georgia has had 30,303 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 11,370 of the 30,303 patients have recovered, while 215 others have died. 3,832 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals in Georgia as of today, 2,249 are in hotels, while the remaining are at home. 3,769 individuals are in quarantine.
