The US European Command has gifted an ultrasound to a hospital in Rukhi, which is about one kilometre from Russia-occupied Abkhazia.

The ultrasound retails for $35,000.

The Philips Affiniti 50 ultrasound system is recommended by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

The medical device is distinguished by its high quality images, sensitivity programmes and modern design. The results of treatment are monitored with high accuracy, which is a maximum guarantee of safety for patients,” says the Georgian Ministry of Health.

Deputy Minister of Health Giorgi Tsotskolauri, US Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Catherine Schweitzer, Director of State Medical Holding Giorgi Chogovadze, and US Defense Attaché to Georgia Colonel Stephanie Begley have attended the gifting ceremony.

Rukhi Hospital is located in the village of Rukhi, about a kilometre away from Enguri Bridge, which connects Russia-occupied Abkhazia with the rest of Georgia.
