Man detained at Tbilisi airport for smuggling in 508 pills of subutex

The detainee attempted to smuggle in drugs from Turkey to Georgia, the Georgian Interior Ministry reports.

Georgian police have detained an individual at Tbilisi International Airport earlier today for smuggling in 508 pills of subutex and three pills of methadone from Turkey.

The video has been released by Georgian Interior Ministry. 

The Georgian Interior Ministry has not identified the detainee, only saying that he has a previous criminal record and has admitted to the crime.

The offence is punishable by eight to 20 years in prison.
