US allocates $7mln for a 5-year education project in Georgia

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has allocated seven million USD for a five-year education project in Georgia, the government of Georgia reports.

The project aims to promote reading books, critical thinking, mathematical thinking and decision-making at Georgian secondary schools, as well to develop a programme for future teachers at higher education institutions and support the studying of the English language.

An agreement regarding the project was signed last summer and it will be carried out by the International Education Centre within the  Fulbright programme.
